Hey there,
Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars Support Team. I am sorry if the error message when you attempted to link your accounts was at all confusing, and I’d like to clarify what it actually means for you. If you receive Error code 48 or another XML file error when attempting to link your accounts, this actually indicates that you are providing the wrong password or other invalid account information. We are working on getting this error message made more clear for users, and I would be happy to assist you in getting the correct credentials for Guild Wars so that you can properly link and register your accounts. If you have the ability to do so yourself, you can update the Guild Wars password and try again. If you are able to resolve this issue yourself, please assist us by updating your ticket to closed once you have resolved your issue.
I want to make sure that we are assisting you with the correct account. To preserve the security of the account, please provide as much of the following information as possible.
Guild Wars account:
- The first and last name on the account
- Your date of birth
- The physical address you entered when you created the account
- The 25-digit access key(s) associated with each of your Guild Wars game accounts
- The Unique Account ID, if you have a game account that ends in @plaync or @ncsoft (You can typically locate these in a “Game Account Activated” email that is sent when you activate each account).
- If you registered through or purchased from the NCsoft website, please provide the last 4 digits (ONLY) of the credit card you used.
- If you activated your account using PayPal®, please provide the Transaction ID or the Invoice ID associated with the original activation purchase.
Guild Wars 2 account:
- Your 25-digit Guild Wars 2 serial code.
If you purchased Guild Wars 2 from the https://buy.guildwars2.com website, please provide the following pieces of information:
- Order ID
- Last four digits (ONLY) of the credit/debit card used
- PayPal® Transaction ID or the Invoice ID associated with the purchase
We look forward to your reply.
Regards,
GM Alura
